Soda-Fired Floral Mug

This bowl-shaped mug features a soft, rounded form that sits comfortably in the hands. Hand-drawn black floral details are applied in underglaze and left intentionally loose and organic, allowing the surface to feel calm rather than busy. A turquoise glaze pools along the rim and upper half of the mug, breaking gently where it meets the warm clay body beneath.

Fired in a soda kiln, the surface develops subtle variation in color and texture that can’t be achieved in standard firings. Each mug is shaped by flame, atmosphere, and chance — similar in spirit, never identical.
