Feel free to ask! I love a fun challenge and occasionally take on projects outside of my usual work.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou are also welcome to send inspiration photos, sketches, colors, or ideas. Inspiration is always helpful, but I do not directly recreate the work of other ceramic artists. Once purchased, I will personally reach out to the email used at checkout so we can talk about what you have in mind.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe can discuss the shape, size, clay, colors, carvings, handles, flowers or other attachments, timeline, and all the little details that make your piece special.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCustom work takes time before I ever touch the clay. There is often research, planning, pricing, material consideration, and creative problem solving involved in deciding how to bring an idea to life. \u003cstrong\u003eThe $25 request fee allows me to give each commission that time and attention while valuing the creative work that goes into the process.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf we decide to move forward, your $25 is applied directly toward the cost of your piece.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you decide not to move forward after receiving your quote, the $25 is retained for the time already spent planning your commission. If I determine that I am unable to make your piece, I will refund it in full.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003ePayment\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOnce you approve your quote, \u003cstrong\u003e50% of the total is due before I begin creating your piece.\u003c\/strong\u003e Your original $25 counts toward that amount.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMany of my standard custom mugs, for example, are around \u003cstrong\u003e$50 to $60\u003c\/strong\u003e, so the initial $25 may be all that is needed to begin. Larger or more involved pieces may require an additional deposit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe remaining balance is due when your piece is complete and before pickup, delivery, or shipping.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eTiming\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease give me a \u003cstrong\u003eminimum of 6 weeks\u003c\/strong\u003e for custom work. Pottery takes time to make, dry, fire, glaze, and fire again, and more complicated pieces may take longer.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI cannot guarantee last minute completion for birthdays, holidays, weddings, or other special dates.
